Dear Church Family:
Words are inadequate to express our love and appreciation to you for these past twenty-seven years.
God called us by His sovereign will to serve at Peachtree Corners – and His grace has been all-sufficient for each of those years. God is so good, isn’t He?
Now our Lord has demonstrated His sovereign will in ways that are so gracious and clear -- and because He is Lord, we must say, “yes”, when He speaks to our hearts. God has shown that the time is now, in 2013, to announce retirement as Worship Pastor here – not retirement from ministry, but from our current role with this congregation. As we prayerfully contemplated God’s timing for a transition out of the role of Worship Pastor last year, I found myself looking forward to the church’s 30th Anniversary celebration – realizing that would not have been an appropriate time. God has shown me once again that His timing is perfect for His children – and I hope you will join me in worshipping Him enthusiastically as we move through the coming months.
It is our hope and plan to be involved in the larger community of churches as a mentor, coach and encourager to younger worship and music leaders and potential leaders. We will be establishing a new ministry that will help us to explore other avenues in which to become “ministers-at-large”—on mission for God in the years ahead. Thank you for blessing us on our way toward these ministry opportunities with your prayerful support.
My last Sunday to lead in worship will be Easter Sunday, March 31. I will then stay on in a part-time capacity in April to help in transition. I know that God will be graciously all-sufficient for the Peachtree Corners worshipping family – just as He will be for Carla and me.
Thank you for every act of kindness shown to us. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for singing God’s praises so gloriously. Thank you for helping us along in our pilgrimage toward learning what true worship is all about.
We love you and will always feel that we are a part of you. You will always hold a place in our hearts.
