How do I register/check-in my child?
If you are a first time visitor, we welcome you! Please stop by the preschool desk to register your child and a receptionist will help you find out which class they belong in. Any Sunday or Wednesday after that, you may check in using our CheckPoint system which will print out a name tag for your child, as well as a security slip which you will use to pick up your child.
How does PCBC decide which class my child belongs in?
All children are promoted annually (typically in August) with the exception of babies. (They are promoted when they begin to become more mobile.) Children are placed in a class based on their age on September 1st. For example, a child who is 2 on September 1st will be placed in the 2 year old class. They will also be there the following July, even though he/she may have turned 3 by that time.
How should I drop off/pick up my child?
A preschooler must be brought to their class by an adult and will be released to the adult who has the computerized security slip. Please knock on the door and a teacher will greet you and help you get your child involved in an activity. When you return, slide your security slip under the door and knock. A teacher will bring your child to you. A parent should pick up their child immediately following the service or function.
What should I bring for my child?
For children who are not yet potty trained, please bring a diaper bag with diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, etc… If your child is bottle feeding, you may include a bottle or a sippy cup with water for older children. (Please do not send in any food. We will provide an allergy free snack for the children.) Parents are asked to label all items belonging to their child, i.e. diaper bags, bottles, pacifiers, jackets, etc… Please leave personal toys at home.
Can I visit my child while he/she is in their class?
Only preschoolers, PEPs, boosters, and their teachers are permitted in any preschool classroom. Parents, other family members, and friends are asked not to visit the children, as this can upset the child, especially if separation anxiety is an issue.
