Happy Hearts NEWThe Happy Hearts Club at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church

Founder, Dianne McGarey was led to organize the Happy Hearts Club (HHC) at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church after losing her husband of 26 years to Alzheimer's.
Dianne had "been there" and she, armed with a troop of friendly volunteers, started the HHC in October, 2008. HHC is dedicated to the encouragement of those who are selflessly caring for loved ones at home.
Currently, HHC is Co-Directed by Kay Johnson and Angi Lewallen and continues to serve our caregivers and community.
Co-Director Kay Johnson retired from the DuPont Company in Medical Product Sales. Kay started with Happy Hearts in February, 2009. She was a caregiver to her mother and brother, both whom had Alzheimer's.
Co-Director Angi Lewallen, RN, who works at a local hospital, started with Happy Hearts in October, 2008. She was a caregiver to her mother and father both whom had cancer, and her grandmother who had Alzheimer's.
The Happy Hearts Club meets weekly on Monday's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located in the Peachtree Corners Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. For more information visit
Participants bring a bagged lunch. Snacks and beverages are provided throughout the day.

Singles 1 Life Group at PCBC!

Our Singles Life Group is a community of singles in their 30's and 40's committed to "Doing Life Together" through loving each other, learning God's Word, and making Christ known through serving. Singles 1 Life Group meets each Sunday from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. in Room C-128. (Stop by any of the welcome desks near the front entrances and they'll be happy to show you the way.) This time is spent learning God's word, praying for each other, and encouraging each other in our daily lives. We all come from different backgrounds with a wide variety of knowledge of God's word from those who have been Christians for many years to those seeking to learn more about God and His word.

"Doing Life Together" means no one is meant to live solely on their own without help, love or encouragement from other believers. We serve each other in many ways from praying for each other, helping each other financially, raking someone's leaves or bringing them meals when sick or incapacitated. We also get together for fun and fellowship through lunch after church each Sunday, playing Trivia at a local restaurant, game and movie nights just to name a few.

Singles 1 is also a serving class involved in many ministries in the church as well as outside the church. Our members put their faith into serving in the church choir, orchestra, mission trips/conferences, church committees, Happy Hearts respite care program, children's ministry, greeters, and Operation Christmas child just to name a few. Outside of PCBC we serve by volunteering at Norcross Cooperative Ministry, reaching out to the homeless in Atlanta, health fairs, apartment ministry, as well as participating in other Single Outreach programs in the area.

If you are looking for a group of Singles who love to learn and put into practice God's word, encourage each other and serve others all while having fun and "Doing Life Together", then please join us. For more information on Singles 1, please contact one of the following:

Looking for more information, contact:

Singles 1 Life Group leader, Cheryl McNair at 770.729.1454, or Shay Tanner on the church staff at 770-582-2479Click Here to contact us

We look forward to meeting you!

Young Singles at PCBC!

Our Young Singles Life Group is a community of singles in their 20s and early 30s committed to loving each other, learning God’s Word, and making Christ known. The Young Singles group meets each Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Room C-110

. (Stop by any of the welcome desks near the front entrances and they’ll be happy to show you the way.) These gatherings are generally devoted to talking about the rest of the week’s activities, and to Bible study.

Through the week, we get together regularly for fun, prayer and ministry – everything from Snow Mountain, lunch after church on Sundays or wings on a Thursday night, to helping feed the homeless and sharing our faith, to weekly gatherings for prayer.

We’re intentional about seeking serious answers to life’s hardest questions and problems from the Bible, and then helping each other live out those answers every day. If you’re a long-time Christian looking for a church home to plug into, a new Christian looking to learn more about the Bible, or just hungry to find answers to your spiritual questions, give us a try. Visitors are welcome anytime. No judgments, no expectations, just Jesus.

What’s the best way to find out more about the Young Singles at PCBC?

You can call the Young Singles Life Group leaders, Eric and Karen Allen, at 770-449-1622, or call Shay Tanner on the church staff, 770-582-2479, or just show up on Sunday morning.

Do I have to dress up?

You can dress however you like. Our young singles wear anything from jeans and t-shirts to dresses.

I don’t know much about the Bible. Will that be awkward?

Actually, that’s a major reason for our Sunday morning gatherings – to learn. So if you don’t know anything, you’ll fit right in.

What if I don’t know anybody?

With this group, that figures to be a problem for about 20 seconds.

How can I find out what upcoming activities the Young Singles have planned?

In the future, we plan to have a Young Singles activities calendar on this website. For now, the best way would be to call the phone numbers above, or . . . just show up.

I’d really like to get to know some young singles who are committed to knowing God and spiritual matters, but I’m not comfortable going to church. Is there another way?

Call the numbers above and we’ll hook you up with our next out-of-church activity. That way you can meet us, see what we’re about, and then decide whether you’d like to attend on a Sunday morning.

Welcome from the Women's Ministry Director

Dear Reader,

Have you ever been served a beautiful and lovely meal? You may have walked into a room lit with candles and seen a table covered with several lovely and nutritious dishes. You probably sat down feeling welcomed, pampered and thought of as you enjoyed things that were created just for you.

In Women’s Ministry, we are seeking to offer ministries that will feed your soul as well as bring a smile to your face. Honestly, we are still cooking and creating dishes that we hope will be a great blessing to your life. If you have ideas, please do not hesitate to let me know. There are never too many cooks in this kitchen.

Check out our offerings and if you have questions call the church at 770-448-1313 and ask for Women’s Ministry.

The only thing that will truly satisfy your soul’s appetite is a relationship with Jesus Christ. His love is filling, warming and our lives cannot be healthy without Him.

In Jesus’ Love,

Julie White

Women to Women Mentoring: All Stages, All Ages

Titus chapter two tells the older women of the church to influence the younger women. Our church is rich with a variety of ages. We have older and younger women and many somewhere in between. These Mentor Groups give single and married women a chance to meet every other week to grow. The curriculum is usually light in order to focus on life application and discussion. Dear friendships are being forged in thiese confidential groups. Periodically the groups re-launch and welcome new members.

When new groups start, they begin with a 24 hour retreat to help members go deeper in bonding than what can happen in a 2 hour meeting.

If you have an interest in joining a group or being trained to be a Mentor, please contact Julie White at

Steppin’ Sisters

How about less flab and more gab? Step out with other girlfriends who enjoy walking for exercise and fresh air. Experience encouragement over the pavement!

In the past groups have walked in Fowler Park at least twice a month on Monday nights but possibly every week, depending on schedules.

Get your knitting needles and yarn ready. We will meet once a week on Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s. No experience necessary! Come join and learn or help others in the process.

For our first project will make washcloths/dishrags. Please bring size 5, 6, or 7 knitting needles and relatively thin yarn (cotton or something absorbent). If you are an experienced knitter, come work on any project of your choosing and lend a helping hand to our beginners!

LOVEable NETsters

Net some new godly girlfriends at the tennis courts this summer. Bring your racquet and we’ll have some fun. We may play at East Roswell Park or at Rivermont.

Alley Cats

Dust off that ball, get out those shoes, warm up that arm, and join some godly girlfriends at the bowling alley. What fun you’ll have as you roll the ball and roll in laughter. Make some fun memories! We’ll bowl twice a month on Thursdays 7-9PM at Brunswick Zone (Holcomb Bridge and Spalding)

Estimated cost: $10/night. Group rate will be available when we have more exact numbers.

Moms at the Park

Bring the little ones to the park and join other moms as you enjoy the sunshine and friends on the playground. Your children will make a few friends as well! The First and Third Monday of every week. We will meet from 10:00am to 11:30am in Historic Norcross at Thrasher Park.

1 Park Drive, Norcross, GA 30071.

No group on VBS week!

Shutter Bugs

Come; let’s journey together along the path of capturing God’s beauty with our cameras. Everywhere you look there is something worthy of recording; nature, people, places and things. Let’s get together this summer and find those things and learn more about each other and photography. I have a passion to see things the way that God sees them and I am learning daily about Him, the world, and how to use my camera to glorify him. We can find locations nearby and venture further afield to explore the beauty just waiting for us. We can learn from each other, practice different aspects of photography and grow twice a month or more often if the passion is there. I am available Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so let’s put our heads together and come up with a calendar and locations that works for all of us. Feel free to bring friends to join us.

Possible locations: Norcross City Parks, Goat Farm, Yellow River Game, Local River Parks, Capital Area, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Grant Park, Zoo Atlanta, Gibbs Garden, Little 5 Points, Pine Mtn Safari, Sunflower Farm and/or Norcross Houses/Bldgs.

Please note that you do not have to have a fancy camera to have fun and learn. What we will be learning applies to all cameras, it is about how we see (light & shadows) and telling a story/message (composition) with our photos…and Most importantly: Having Fun together!

Group leader: Pearl Brown 770-380-0979 or

Scrap’n Sisters

Bring the pages & pictures that you would like to work on along with scissors, adhesive and other tools you think you might need. We will be meeting at the church in the art room (#314).

Dining Out Divas

Come enjoy each other's company while experiencing different cuisines! Our goal is to have one lunch and one dinner each month & we would love for you to join us as often as possible. We will try different restaurants and even different cuisines. Look forward to a variety of faces and places!

Cook ‘Em Up Girls

Come enjoy cooking and preparing 5 delicious casseroles for your family. We will prep and assemble different recipes to take home, which will be freezer friendly meals to pull out on those busy nights!

Blooming Babes

Join the leader to explore flowering gardening. We’ll consider container gardening, flowering shrubs and plants, plant selection, basics in plant care and more. We may take a possible “field trip” to a local nursery or to pick blueberries. We may dig and share daffodil bulbs.

Ladies Bible Study

Come and make connections with other women and Jesus!

We love to get together and study God's word. We have several opportunities throughout the week Tuesday mornings, Tuesday evenings and Wednesday evenings. Check back in the Fall, Winter and Spring for new studies. New studies are listed below:

Sacred Secrets by Beth Moore. The world is obsessed with telling secrets for the sake of sensationalism. But not all hidden things are poisonous and dark. Sacred Secrets is the new 6-session study from Beth Moore that explores secrets: some forgiven, some covered, and some just between you and God. Join Beth to find out what happens when we let God teach us "wisdom in the secret heart" (Psalm 51:6 , ESV).

Ladies Retreat

Ladies Retreat

Some years PCBC Women’s Ministry offers all ladies a chance to attend a retreat that we create ourselves. It generally involves sleeping at a retreat center and hearing great Biblical teaching. It is a great way to meet new ladies and develop deeper friendships.

In other years, PCBC Women’s Ministry identifies great retreats being sponsored by local or national ministries. We take a group of women to those retreats and enjoy learning with a much larger group. Some times these events are overnight and sometimes they are half-day conferences.

In 2014, we are inviting all women to join us at Callaway Gardens for the WEM Spring Retreat which begins Friday, April 25th at 10am and concludes on Saturday afternoon, April 26th at 3pm. The main speaker is Jennifer Kennedy Dean who will speak on living a life of prayer. Another key note speaker is Mary Jo Sharp who helps us defend our faith with books like Why do you believe that? The music is by Babbie Mason. This retreat will offer a time of refreshment and learning in a beautiful environment. There are lots of helpful breakout sessions and opportunities to gather as a church group to hear what others are learning.

Stay tuned for further details on this site and in the church bulletin. Contact Julie White with questions:

Here is the website link for some details. However, please sign up at church as we may receive a group discount.

Christmas Around The Table

Christmas Around The Table

For the past two years we have offered ladies a chance to gather a couple of weeks before Christmas Day. This event usually take place on a Sunday evening. The table hostesses choose their own style of decorating which makes for very festive and interesting table designs. Besides a lovely room, we enjoy delicious food that is usually catered. As we sit with our friends, coworkers or neighbors, we have a Christ focused program where we hear about the true meaning of Christmas in word and song.

Outreach and Service

Outreach and Service

The Women's Ministry is a ministry designed to enrich the lives of women in our community, not just the women at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. Our desire is to challenge each other to look beyond ourselves to see the needs of others, whether it's in our own community or around the world.
  • You can get involved by supporting our efforts at Peachtree Elementary through our Tuesday morning workdays at the school, donations of school supplies, and other ways.
  • Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Operation Christmas Child has shared the Good News of God's love with hurting children through the simplest of gifts—shoe boxes! Filled with school supplies, toys, and personal items that are packed by caring people, these boxes help introduce children to Jesus Christ. You can get involved by filling a shoebox or by joining the Women's Ministry as we help sort and prep the shoe boxes at the local distribution warehouse. This activity will take place in late November/early December.
  • We partner with various apartment ministries to provide support and to help host activities throughout the year.

For more information on how you can get involved, please contact the Women's Ministry at x2445 or email.

Inclement Weather Policy

The Women's Ministry's Inclement Weather Policy

For activities that take place during the day such as Tuesday morning Bible study, we follow Gwinnett County's schedule. So, if Gwinnett schools are closed, we will not be having Bible study that day. We will also try to post something on the WM's Facebook page and on the WM's homepage.

For evening activities, we will make a decision and try to let people know by 4 PM on the day of the event. We will post a notification WM's Facebook page and on the WM's homepage.
